Why Water?
Because 663 million people in the world live without clean water. We believe that a problem this basic, on a scale this large, is completely unacceptable. This isn’t just an inconvenience. Water is essential to life. So, our mission is to make dirty water clean. Clean water brings with it improved health, education and prosperity. So, let’s bring clean water.
What Next?
Get Creative. Your first step is to decide what kind of fundraiser you’d like to plan… the options are endless, but here are a few of our favorites that we’ve seen:
Bake Sale: You can go traditional or flip the script. Find volunteer bakers and let your friends, family, and social media following know that every donation to 20 Liters will be rewarded with a freshly baked treat of the donor’s choice.
Swimming Events: We’ve seen this one go a lot of ways – find participants to raise pledges and tread water for as long as they can, sell tickets to watch a movie while floating in a local pool, or take a polar plunge with friends.
Water Balloon Fights: This one works great at schools – sell water balloons to students to throw at volunteer teachers or administrators [with their permission, of course].
If none of these options feels like the right fit for you, think about your passions – are you an artist or a ping-pong master? Think about what you already enjoy doing with your friends and ask yourself – how could I turn that into a fundraiser?
