Jeanne Fatuma

When Jeanne Fatuma and her father heard that water filters were available in the Masaka area they willingly attended the class for water filter beneficiaries that the Rwandan Water Team was offering.

At the class they learned how the filter worked, how to maintain the filter, and they were encouraged to share the filtered water with their neighbors.

When the water team came to their home to test the water they found an unsupervised 2- year old child playing with a machete, goats tied up in a pen and the goat barn roof growing tropical grasses.

Jeanne and her father welcomed the team into their home. Their water was tested and was proven to be bacteria free when coming from the filter. She told the team before they left that neighbors also use the filter.

Jeanne Says

At one time she said the neighbors came together to drink beer, now they get together to share clean water.
